EXT-Central Park-day

LEONARD and JOHN are sitting on a bench in the middle of the park.

LEONARD
So… your father has created hundreds of clone and had experiment on them. With the result, he could attain fame. However, one clone, which is your clone, has escaped, and he returned for revenge. Is it what you are telling me?

JOHN nods slowly without any words.

LEONARD
(standing up)
What a… is it true? I mean, do you really believe it? You have not trusted your father for more than 15 years, and you now trust him?

JOHN
(reluctantly)
Yeah.

LEONARD
You are insane.

JOHN
Yeah, I know… What should I do?

LEONARD
What?

JOHN
I have forgiven my father, but he asks me to kill the clone. He even knelt before me. What don’t know what should I do… Should I kill him?

LEONARD falls silent and sits back to the bench. He ponders for a long time.

LEONARD
My friend… Do what you won’t regret later on.

Suddenly LEONARD’s cell phone rings.
INTERCUT – Leonard at park/ Danielle in front of Tower

LEONARD
Hello, this is Leonard

DANIELLE
Hi, it’s me, Danielle. Come quickly to Tower.

LEONARD
What? Why?

DANIELLE
John has appeared, and He has plant the bomb at the tower. Fortunately, he let all the people escape, but he is armed and waiting our response.

LEONARD
Okay, I will be there soon

LEONARD hangs up the phone and looks at JOHN with a surprised look

LEONARD
(with a surprised look)
Your clone is at Eiffel Tower, and he has planted the bomb.
(Standing up)
Let’s go.

EXT-In LEONARD’s Car-day

JOHN and LEONARD head to the tower by LEONARD’s car. LEONARD hands one of his guns to JOHN.

LEONARD
(not facing JOHN)
Keep it… just in case.

EXT-Near Tower

LEONARD stops his car a little away from the tower.

JOHN
Why do we stop here?

LEONARD
I will draw the guards’ attention, and you sneak into the tower okay? They might catch you if you show yourself.

JOHN
(getting off)
Okay.

EXT-Back of Tower-day

LEONARD sprints to the guards.

LEONARD
I am looking for Danielle Smith, the chief. Do you know where he is?

GUARD
He is at the other side of the tower, sir.

JOHN sneaks past the guard into the tower.

LEONARD
Okay, thanks…
(VO, turning around)
…good luck my friend.

INT-In an elevator-day

JOHN takes a deep breath and looks at the floor indicator screen, and the screen shows the number changes starting from sixty-six to sixty-eight. The elevator stops.

EXT-Observation Platform-day

CLONE faces to the windows with his back on the elevator. As the bell rings, he slowly turns around and sees nothing in the elevator.

CLONE
Don’t hide from me. Come out whoever you are.

JOHN appears with the gun on his right hand.

CLONE
Wow, it’s you John. Are you doing well?… You do not seem to be surprised at all.

JOHN
(aiming the gun at CLONE)
Stop the bomb.

CLONE
(tutting)
Calm down, man. PETER might tell you about me, right? Okay, so, I do not have to explain what’s going on. Then…let’s have a conversation.

JOHN
Stop the bomb now, and I have nothing say to you.

CLONE
Well, I have something to talk to you, and you are lying

JOHN
What?

CLONE
(turning around)
If you really wanted to stop me, you would attack me from the back, and you would not come out from the elevator…
(facing JOHN again)
…Ain’t I right?

Quick shot of JOHN and CLONE on the side

JOHN
(putting down the gun)
Okay. What do you want to say?

CLONE
(grinning)
Just grant my with. It would be really easy. So here is my wish… I want to tell the truth to the world. Isn’t it easy?

JOHN
What truth are you talking about?

CLONE
Hey, you know what he has done to the clones, my brothers and sisters.

JOHN
Okay, then why is it good to you?

CLONE
(frozen face from ‘but’)
That’s a good question… Actually, there is no good of announcing the truth to the world. But… I cannot let him die peacefully; I want to see him suffering from a punishment for the fault he has made.

JOHN
(aiming gun at CLONE again)
If you want then, then you should kill me first.

CLONE
(taking his gun out)
Well, if you want so.

The scene shows the tip of the CLONE’s gun, and CLONE fires. The fight starts.

EXT-Around souvenir store-day

As JOHN and CLONE fight, they move the place near to souvenir store. Both accidentally drop the guns, and it turns into hand- to- hand combat from the gun fighting.

JOHN punches on CLONE’s face, and CLONE falls down. JOHN takes this chance to pick up the gun and aims at CLONE.

JOHN
(gasping and exhausted)
It’s over.

CLONE tries to get up, but he stops moving when he sees JOHN holding the gun. He bows the head

JOHN
Yeah… it is over.

CLONE
(crying and gasping)
Why… why… you and I are the same but why?

Quick shot of JOHN

CLONE
I have been waiting for today to meet you and… and… tell the world the truth. But why! Why do I should die at here now?

Quick shot of JOHN and CLONE on the side

CLONE
Is this what I have been waiting for? Shit…it’s unfair. You and I are the same, but why can’t I get what I want while you get everything.

JOHN
(holding a gun and gasping)
Shut up, we are not the same. You are just insane terrorist, and I am just a prosecutor who comes here to stop you.

CLONE
(stop crying and gasping)
John.

JOHN
What? Is there anything more you want to say?

CLONE
You hate your father right?

JOHN
(sarcastically)
So what?

CLONE
Let’s tell the truth to the world.
(looking up at JOHN)
Think about hundreds of corpses of the clones he had made. Your father is a murderer.

JOHN is stunned.

CLONE
John…

JOHN
(gradually raising the voice level)
Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up.

CLONE
(shouting)
Aren’t they pitiful? They are killed by your father who is blind for fame. You are conceited of being a prosecutor and helping residents, and why do you turn your eyes from them? Is it because of your father’s fame?

JOHN
I just forgave my father, and you say betray my father? I can’t do it.

CLONE
(standing up slowly)
John.

JOHN
(stepping back)
NO.

CLONE
(stepping forward)
JOHN.

JOHN
No.

The sound of gunshot fills the observation platform, and CLONE falls down.

JOHN
(gasping and crying)
I cannot do it.

Suddenly, Leonard appears from JOHN’s back.

LEONARD
(gasping)
What’s going on?

JOHN
(crying but smiling)
It’s over LEONARD. Let’s stop the bomb and go back to home.

The scene turns to black

EXT-In Court-afternoon

JOHN is having a trial. PETER is sitting on, and LEONARD is next to JOHN. The judge gavels.

JUDGE
Since the jury unanimously found the accused not guilty, I acquit of a charge.

As judge gavels, the scene changes to black

EXT-Outside of court-afternoon

JOHN, PETER, LEONARD comes out from the court. JOHN stops walking and turns around, and he sees the tower where he has encountered CLONE.

PETER (VO)
(shouting)
JOHN, let’s go.

JOHN
(turning around and shouting)
Okay, wait.

He runs to LEONARD and PETER.

PETER
(As JOHN arrives)
Hey, what don’t we visit Jason? Get on my cars.

INT-In PETER’s Car-afternoon

JOHN (VO)
As Clone told me, we are the same. We have the same father and are the physically same. However, he is one of the poor who is honesty, but I am a prosecutor who turned my back to the poor.

The scene shows JOHN’s face through the car window and shows the sky.

--Career Essay-- Satisfaction of My Needs: Engineering Technician

People say we live with the fear of future everyday. Therefore, we take the future seriously, and I believe high school years are when people take the future most seriously. People start thinking of the college or university they would attend, and as following, they start thinking of their future career. As high school student, the college and the career have become a heavy and big burden to me, and I have much stress through anxiety on the future. However, the future career research, which I have done in Writing class last month, has released my burden because has suggested me a job, engineering technician. The reason why I say it fits to me is that it seems that that the life of engineering technician can satisfy my top values in the life, my interests, and my personality. In addition, skills I have now seem to be helpful to reach it.
Before I look on how it fits in, it would help understanding how it fits to know what kind of occupation engineering technician is and what people as technicians do. According to the book The Occupational Finder, engineering technician is combination of investigative, realistic, and conventional occupation. The book says, “Investigative occupations include scientific and technical occupations. Realistic occupations include skill trades, technical occupations, and some service occupations. Conventional occupations include office and clerical occupations” (Holland 2). Then what do engineering technicians do? According to “Occupational Outlook Handbook,” their two main tasks are to test electronic products or appliances using scientific theories and mathematical formulas and to search for development. They may help designing electronic products for their additional task (Engineering Technician). For further information, I have asked my father’s friend, who work on nuclear engineering, about what is required to be engineering technician. He said employers prefer who take at least two-year degree in engineering in college. He also said taking all the possible math classes and winning the prize in math competition both in high school years would help to get this job (Kwon). These show that math and science are basic needs to engineering technician.
With this basic information, I can see that this vocation can satisfy my top values, personality, and interests. First, my top values in my life are having a changeable routine and fitting in. I prefer changeable routine to fixed routine because the fixed routine would be monotonous and would easily make people depressed. However, engineering technician meet different types of machines in different environment, and different environment would provide a changeable routine. Otherwise, the reason why fitting in is my top value is that I hardly concentrated on work when I have bad relationship with others. There would be some time that I have to work with other as a team, and I would get close to people through the teamwork and naturally fit in. Therefore, it would easily satisfy my top value. Second, the task of engineering technician would easily satisfy my interests. I am interested in new inventions because they can change our lives, so I read the articles about them. I am also interested in design as much as in new inventions even though I am not good at drawing or designing. If I became engineering technician, I need to develop for a new invention and design it because their duties are to seek for development and to design a developed one.
Last, my characteristic would satisfy with the life of this occupation. According to the book, Please Understand Me II, I am a crafter who are masterful in tools, equipment, machines, and instruments of all kinds, and my characteristic is said, “… action is more enjoyable –and more effective- if it is unplanned, serving no purpose other than the doing” (Keirsey 4). This characteristic described on the book is pretty close to the real. Technicians’ lives are full of actions in tests or investigation, and they cannot predict what would happen as they test different machines. It means I would enjoy my life as technicians because of unplanned action in technicians’ lives. Therefore, I would enjoy my life as engineering technician since it satisfy all my top values, interests, and characteristics
Therefore, I say this job fits to me, and coincidently, my skills seem to be helpful. Engineering technicians use theories of math and science to test electronic device properly (Engineering Technician), which means I have to be skillful in math and science. I am not showing off, but I may say that I am innate in math. I take Pre-calculus this year while my friends are taking Geometry or Algebra 2 and receive grade A for math, and the same thing happens in science class. I am not innate in science as much as in math, but I still get at least A- for science. Therefore, I say I am innate in both math and science. Otherwise, I analyze mathematical information better than others do because of ability in math. Engineering technicians need to analyze the investigation results, and the results would be mathematical information, but I would not have much problem to analyze information. Therefore, my skills, which are ability in math, science, and analysis of mathematical information, would be helpful to reach it.
My father always tells me that I have to consider whether I would satisfy with a job whenever I seek for it and that this leads to good choice. His opinion is quite true, and I believe so. Now, I start thinking about my future career as high school students as well others. I found a fascinating one, which is engineering technician, because engineering technicians’ life would satisfy my top value, interests, and personality. In addition, my skills would be helpful to be engineering technician. Engineering technician has become the goal I want to reach. I need to go through countless works to reach it, and countless hardships are waiting for me, but I believe I would reach it in the end.

My Character Goal

Habits that people have make them special and different from others as their personalities do. Even it makes special, it is certain that we can divide into good or bad. I also have bad habit as well as others; my bad habit is that I divide the works into whether they are annoying or not. I feel importance of breaking the bad habit, so my new year’s resolution is to break this habit.
The reason why I feel the importance of breaking it is that this habit influences my linguistic habit. If you are really closed to me, you will find out that I often say, “It’s annoying.” This has exasperated my friend somehow and brought brawls between them and me. One Bible verse in Book of James says, “For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” (NIV James 3:16) Frankly, I do not want make myself as evil one and cause problem, so I choose to break the habit.
I have only one solution in my mind; it is to think positively. Like other students, I am reluctant and unwilling to work, and this unwillingness and reluctance make me divide work as ‘annoying work’. However, if I think of success in that work such as getting the highest grade, it may make me a little excite and get rid of those negative thought. Therefore, positive thoughts will make me divide the work as ‘mild work.’ Furthermore, it will stop me dividing work into annoying or not and affect my linguistic habit. If that happens, I will get the close relationship with my friends back and have a pleasant time with them again.

Learning Resolution for A+

Standard 1. Uses the general skills and strategies of the writing process
Goal: I will use strategies to address writing to different audiences
Method: If I know various amounts of words, this will help me to have right word-choice for audiences, so studying for vocabulary will be one of methods. Also, reading lots of articles those have different audience may give an idea of appropriate words for my essay audience. Therefore, I will read different articles and study for vocabulary.

Standard 2. Uses the stylistic and rhetorical aspects of writing
Goal: I will use different types of supporting detail to provide enough information.
Method: To provide supporting details, I will read books, newspapers, and magazines. Newspapers and magazines provide various information and stories, and some will be useful since I use information and stories as examples and anecdotes of a topic.

Standard 3. Uses grammatical and mechanical conventions in written compositions
Goal: I will check and correct misspelled words.
Method: There are two effective ways to improve. One method is checking spelling of words in dictionary, and the other one is checking misspelled words after writing. Therefore, I will look in dictionary whenever spelling of words is confusing, and I will read the final draft at least once.

Standard 4. Gathers and uses information for research purposes
Goal: I will use not only electronic source but also print to gather information.
Method: I tended to use internet only to search information, and I found that even internet has a limit of gathering information. Therefore, I will use not only internet but also information printed on papers such as encyclopedia or magazines. Since our school library has numerous encyclopedia and magazines, I will stop by library and search.

Six Traits
a) Goal: I will choose the most appropriate words for an essay.
Method: Word choice determines the voice of an essay, and an improper voice for the audience can make the essay boring. To prevent this, I will study for vocabulary, and I will look up in thesaurus every time I write for more proper words.

b) Goal: I will finish all the assignments on time
Method: Turning homework on time does not belong to six traits, but I feel like I should set this goal because I had lots of overdue assignment last semester. The best ways to accomplish this goal are to concentrate only on homework and to put everything that distracts me away when I work on assignment. Also, I will start to work assignment on the day a teacher assigns since I cannot finish in last two days before the due dates.

--Pantoum-- Poor Little Guy

Poor Little Guy,
He desires to sleep.
He, now, has drowsy eyes.
But he tries not to sleep.

He desires to sleep.
It is true that it is hard to bear.
But he tries not to sleep.
He removes drowsiness with prayer.

It is true that it is hard to bear.
The end of class is almost to come about.
He removes drowsiness with prayer.
Finally, the teacher finds him out.

The end of class is almost to com about.
He, now, has drowsy eyes.
Finally, the teacher finds him out.
Poor Little Guy.

--Narrative Poem-- Two Ateliers

I lived in a doorway
Between two ateliers.
I saw my rough sketches of portraits,
Those friends and the master gave me,
Mounting up in the old-fashioned atelier.

But I walked into the other
Newly-built atelier,
Ignoring those rough sketches.
Only an easel, papers, and paint brushes
Filled the atelier.

I have been drawing my own portrait for years,
And I will fill this room with
My own dream.

--List Poem-- Stressful Work

I don’t like any poetry
Because everything related to
POETRY is TIME – CONSUMING.

It is also obviously
Too irksome to write,
Too complicated to understand,
Too concise to enjoy.

Everything seems stressful in Poetry
